When to go on a sleigh ride in Zakopane
In season, sleigh rides run every day, but not every date is the same. The date decides the price, and on the most popular days also whether a seat is free. Here is everything worth knowing before you pick a date.
Sleigh rides run every day in season
In season, sleigh rides run every day, weekdays included. The exception is 24 and 25 December, when there are no rides.
Three periods, three price levels
The date decides the price. For most of the season, base prices apply. Only over Christmas and New Year, from 24.12.2026 to 6.01.2027, prices are higher, and the highest are on 26 December in Ząb and the Chochołowska Valley.
- until 23.12 and from 7.01: base prices,
- 26.12: the highest prices of the season,
- 27.12 to 6.01: prices above the base, but in Ząb and Chochołowska lower than on 26 December.

In Białka the lower price is for the 1 h feast, the higher for the 2 h one. From 26.12 to 6.01 only the 2 h feast is available there. You will find the full price list with children's prices in the guide How much does a sleigh ride in Zakopane cost.
When it gets busiest
The best weekends, winter holidays and New Year's Eve go first. If you are travelling on one of those dates, book early. The rule is simple: first come, first served. Not sure if there are still seats on your date? Call us and we will check.
Which time to pick
In Ząb and the Chochołowska Valley, rides start every day every hour from 14:00 to 20:00. In Białka Tatrzańska we start at 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00. The whole trip, from pick-up at your accommodation to the drop-off, takes about 3 to 3.5 hours, and in Białka with the 2 h feast about 4 to 4.5 hours. Keep that in mind when planning dinner.
- an earlier time: good for families with kids, because you will be back before their bedtime,
- a later time: the torches and the fire look best after dark.
And if there is no snow?
