Sleigh ride with kids in Zakopane

A sleigh ride is one of the easier winter outings with kids. We pick you up at your accommodation, you ride an hour on a sleigh with torches, and spend another hour in a heated mountain hut by the fire. Below are the questions parents ask most often.
From what age and how much it costs
Children pay less than adults, and the youngest ride free. Prices outside the holidays, that is until 23.12 and from 7.01:
| Route | Adults | Children | Free |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ząb / Gubałówka | 180 PLN | 160 PLN (up to 12) | under 4 |
| Chochołowska Valley | 220 PLN | 190 PLN (up to 10) | under 3 |
| Białka Tatrzańska | 200 PLN or 250 PLN | 180 PLN or 190 PLN (up to 12) | under 4 |
In Białka the lower price is for the 1 h feast and the higher one for the 2 h feast. In high season, from 24.12.2026 to 6.01.2027, higher prices apply, and there are no rides on 24 and 25 December. Current prices and the calculator are on the home page.
If you have very small children, call us before booking. We will advise on a route and work out how to arrange the seats on the sleigh.
Which route to choose with kids
- Chochołowska Valley: deep forest and quiet, sleighs for 4 people. A good choice for families who want some peace.
- Ząb / Gubałówka: a Tatra panorama and sleighs for 4-12 people. It works well when several families travel together.
- Białka Tatrzańska: a choice of a 1 or 2 hour feast. With younger children the shorter one is usually enough.
You don't have to choose blind. Give us a call and we will match the route and start time to your group.

How long it takes and when to go
The whole evening takes about 3-3.5 hours from pick-up to drop-off: about 30 minutes of travel, an hour on the sleigh, an hour of feast and about 30 minutes back. Rides in Ząb and the Chochołowska Valley start every day every hour from 14:00 to 20:00, and in Białka at 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00. With younger children pick an earlier time, so you are back before bedtime.
What awaits kids on site
- a heated bus that picks you up from your hotel or accommodation,
- an hour on a sleigh pulled by horses,
- a live highland band in a heated mountain hut or shelter,
- sausages you roast yourself over the fire,
- hot tea with raspberry syrup and lemon.

How to dress a child for a sleigh ride
Like an adult, only with extras: three thin layers, warm boots with a thick sole, a hat that covers the ears, a scarf or neck gaiter and warm gloves. Bring a second pair of gloves in case the first gets wet. A ski suit works great too. More in the guide What to wear on a sleigh ride in Zakopane.
